2024 Scottsdale Headache Symposium
Since the inaugural meeting in 1970, the Scottsdale Headache Symposium® continues to be a successful venue for providing practical, clinical, evidence-based information on the diagnosis, management and treatment of patients with headache.
COURSE INSTRUCTIONS:
Live and virtual meeting attendees who joined us in Scottsdale have complimentary access to the recorded content within this course. AHS Members can login using their existing member credentials. All others can log into an existing Visitor account or create a new Visitor account. Once logged in, click "Take course" to access recorded content, complete the meeting evaluation, and claim CME.

Target Audience
The Symposium is designed for general practitioners, internists, pediatricians, neurologists, anesthesiologists, dentists, physical therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other health professionals who treat headache. Education is presented in didactic, case-based, evidence-based, panel and demonstrative formats over the course of four days.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the American Headache Society’s 2024 Scottsdale Headache Symposium, participants will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of the diagnosis, epidemiology, and treatment of headache disorders in adults and children in clinical practice and research
- Discuss controversies and evidence for using CGRP antagonists during pregnancy, in patients with vascular risk factors and as combination therapies
- Incorporate non-pharmacologic treatments in the management of migraine
- Select the appropriate neuroradiological investigations for various secondary headaches

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
At the conclusion of this program, learners will share that they feel better prepared to manage patients presenting with headache conditions by applying best practices in Headache Medicine retailed to the diagnosis, epidemiology, and treatment of headache disorders in adults and children in clinical practice and research, and will consider the controversies and evidence for using CGRP antagonists during pregnancy, in patients with vascular risk factors and as combination therapies. Learners will report their intention to incorporate non-pharmacologic treatments in the management of migraine & select the appropriate neuroradiological investigations for various secondary headaches.

THE AMERICAN BOARD OF PSYCHIATRY AND NEUROLOGY HAS REVIEWED THE 2024 SCOTTSDALE HEADACHE SYMPOSIUM AND HAS APPROVED THIS ACTIVITY AS PART OF A COMPREHENSIVE SELF-ASSESSMENT (SA) CME ACTIVITY, WHICH IS MANDATED BY THE ABMS AS A NECESSARY COMPONENT OF CONTINUING CERTIFICATION.
This activity awards up to 50 Category 1 CME which are approved as Self-Assessment credits. The approval period is for November 14, 2024 – June 16, 2025.
